Bright Smiles and Brave Hearts
What's behind a smile ? For many, a smile hides the truth of challenges and traumas faced and overcome. Everyone has a story and many are truly and genuinely inspiring.
This art project aims to bring together people who have faced and overcome significant challenges or traumas to tell their stories so that others can find hope and inspiration to deal with the challenges they face.

If you have a story to share that you think will help others in a similar situation to the one you faced and overcame then please contact us to find out more.
When we have compiled enough stories, we will be exhibiting your photo and first name (only), along with a QR code which will allow viewers to read your story on a hidden page on this web site.
So we need a "head and shoulders" photos of you, smiling (of course!) and your inspiring story.
Some guidelines for the smilers
We are aware that all these stories are very personal and some could be very sensitive. Therefore, in order to protect everyone involved, we will only publish first names of the smiling faces. If you wish your photo and story to be anonymous then that's absolutely fine with us. We're just grateful that you are willing to share to help others.
Your stories will be read by people experiencing similar challenges to those you faced. The important thing is that they take inspiration from how you overcame them. So, please provide a short description of those challenges and concentrate most of your story on how you dealt with your challenges. That way the readers get maximum inspiration from you.
Please do not include names of any third parties, even if you have their permission. If anyone was particularly supportive then please feel free to mention then by their relationship to you: husband, wife, partner, friend, cousin etc. If anyone was the cause of your trauma then definitely don't name them (please !). We hope you understand.
We reserve the right to edit all stories to protect identities and keep everyone safe from harm and potential legal proceedings. While we will do what we can to protect everyone, by participating in this project you are taking full responsibility for the information you share and any consequences that may arise.
Where can you see the exhibition?
The photos will be on display in a venue in Nantwich soon. (We are just finalising the logistics of it with the venue owners).
